A short trip to where the water falls

On this lovely weekend we drove to Trollhättan and spent a night there just to get away and relax. Our hotel was pretty close to the town, so it was easy to convince Fred to go for a walk. :D

Through Trollhättan goes the Göta Älv, a large river flowing from Vänern (Sweden's largest lake) to Göteborg and into the sea. There's flood gates in the middle of the town which are opened every Saturday at 3 p.m. these days. In summer season they're opened every day.
Here's a view from the bridge with the floodgates in the direction where the water will flow.

The other side where the water is dammed.

A church on the way to the other bridge.

Here's the view from the bridge where the river flows in direction Göteborg.

And here's the other side with view to the floodgates (in the back in yellow and green).
