Furious 6

Yesterday we've made it to the cinema! Yes, this sounds as if it was a difficult task! It was originally thought as relaxing activity, but unfortunately it was not so much relaxing.
First it wasn't sure if we go at all because Fred's work times vary a little depending on the traffic and
we also had to clean out our second garage as well some time that day. We canceled the contract so I had to return the keys today.
Anyhow, we made it and we were even a little bit early so we had time to sit in the wonderful sunny weather and enjoy some ice cream.

The experience
Unlike the last cinema visits this one was a pain in the ass. I already had swollen legs and my feet were hurting from the shoes, but then I couldn't really sit comfortably either.
I know... nagging a lot! At least it wasn't as loud as "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" or "Another day to die hard". So baby didn't kick too much. :)

The movie
I didn't really mention it yet, but we watched "Fast and Furious 6". Fred loves this series and yes, I learned to like it as well. The story of this movie itself is a little disappointing.
The reasons for explosions and car chases, use of airplanes, tanks, etc. was pretty forced and one wished they just had kept to cars only.

Which brings us to the cars: Most of them were pretty forgettable in my opinion.
Best car was Letty's 1971 Jensen Interceptor.

3 weeks in fast forward

1st week - Two of my friends from Germany were visiting and we did a lot of trips and activities, such as having a barbecue, throwing a birthday party for Fred's brother and sightseeing in Göteborg and trip to Bohus fortress among others.

Bohus fortress in Kungälv

2nd week - Made another cheesecake and a trip to Lidköping to celebrate the birthdays of my mother-in-law and her boyfriend.

Flowers at the edge of Vänern (Swedens biggest lake)

3rd week - My two oldest friends came for a weekend visit. We also had a little city sightseeing in Göteborg with elks and we went to the place were Fred and I got married last year and nearly had as awesome weather as back then. :)

There's a word for everything

Mums!

Another of my breakfast favourites during pregnancy. It's an old classic we used to eat when we were kids. And it's dairy free and almost gluten free.

Mix 1 mashed banana with (approx. 1 cup) oats. It doesn't matter if it's all dried up, because in the end you add as much orange juice to make it a homogenous mass and a little bit more so the oats can soak in it a little bit. Add cinnamon, if you like. :D

Unfortunately I have to avoid cinnamon these days, because it has a labor-inducing effect. That's why I probably get stomach aches the day after indulging something with cinnamon.

Girl or boy?

Almost everyone asked if we expect a girl or a boy. When I got pregnant, I had the feeling that we're getting a boy. But that's maybe because I'm afraid of girls or something. xD On the other hand Fred hoped/thought it was a girl.
Anyhow, when we saw the baby the first time on ultrasound it reminded me somehow of a mini version of Fred. So long and thin. That impression came mostly because the baby turned its back to us as if it wanted to be left alone and keep on sleeping and you could so perfectly see its spine. But then it was too early to tell something about gender because I was only in week 11.

So we were really curious and hoped that the second ultrasound would reveal the gender. As I mentioned before one day before that ultrasound the baby started kicking and the first thing coming up on the screen was the baby kicking with all its power against the uterus. Just had to mention this, because it made such an impression. :P
During the ultrasound the technician measured and checked all the important body parts. And in the end she asked if we have anymore questions. Yes! We would like to know the gender. Lol. But baby was lying mostly on the side and she tried to move it a bit, but then my hip bone was in the way for the scanner. So actually she could not determine 100% that it was a girl but she told us, it's probably a girl.
In the end the most important point was to know that the baby was healthy. And it does not matter if it will be a girl or a boy, because we already have names for both possibilities. That was what gave a sense of security in the whole process because it's like having something checked of a list or "give it a name and you will be less afraid of it".

In other news: this week Fred got one year younger, as he joked, so we invited his family over for coffee yesterday. Everything went nice and harmonic and other than that not much else happened. Here's what's left of the cake:

Breakfast time

One of my favourite breakfasts at the moment:

1 pack cottage cheese (200 g)
1 sliced banana
1/2 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon chia seeds

In other news, there has been some serious daddy-baby bonding going on the last days:
We were watching a film one evening and suddenly Fred started poking the belly and talking with the baby which was obviously responding with kicking and pushing. So fun for them because they kept doing that for at least half an hour. The next day Fred told me he couldn't sleep for an hour or so that night so he played with the baby again. xD

Kosläpp

On May 1st we made a trip to a milkfarm from Arla to see how the cows would be let out of the stables the first time after winter.

Seems like the right way

One happy cow
